Benefits of Base Oils to Natural Soap

 

1.ALCHEMILLA OIL INFUSION

helps improve the elasticity of the skin with its anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. Ideal for soothing rashes, eczema, acne and insect bites and for cleansing dry, sensitive skin. We use Alchemilla oil infusion in Lemongrass Soap.

2.AVOCADO OIL

is jam-packed with vitamins A, B, D and E, antioxidants which make it healing as well as moisturising. This oil leaves the soap with a high percentage of fatty acids which gives it a moisturising punch. Activated Charcoal is used in our Activated Charcoal Soap with Clary Sage.

3.ALMOND SWEET OIL

is high in vitamin E, antioxidants and proteins. This oil is deeply soothing to the inflamed skin and helpful for chapped skin rashes. This gorgeous oil contributes to soap with stable lather, conditioning, moisturising. Overall it helps skin maintain a glowing complexion.

4.CALENDULA OIL INFUSION

Calendula is widely known for its wonderful skin properties. It soothes irritated skin, calms down inflammation and sensitive areas. Natural soap infused with Calendula oil is considered to be a very effective herbal remedy for skin problems. Our soap is gentle and helps soothing irritated, itchy and dry skin. 5.CASTOR OIL

is rich in fatty acids and effective for adding a fluffy and stable lather and great for moisturising and conditioning properties to the finished product. This oil acts as a humectant in soaps, which means it draws moisture from the air onto the skin.

6.CHAMOMILE OIL INFUSION

Chamomile, anti-inflammatory herb high in antioxidants, has traditionally been used for its calming effect on scars and wounds. Its antibacterial properties help fight acne and breakouts. So, our lovely Chamomile Calendula Soap with Oats is packed with chamomile infusion is suitable for all skin types, including dry, sensitive and eczema skin. 

7.CARROT OIL INFUSION

is full of vitamin A which is essential for the skin and promotes healthy tissue formation as well as protects the skin from ultra-violet radiation. Carrot oil infusion is effective for mature/aging skin, for dry, itchy skin. The oil improves an appearance of scar tissue. You can find Carrot oil in our Carrot Soap.

8.COCOA BUTTER

makes an excellent skin moisturiser, plus it does more than just hydrate the skin — it helps actually heal it from the inside out too. It contains natural antioxidants and it also contributes to the soap hardness, stable lather, conditioning.

9.COCONUT OIL

is rich in emollient fat and when used in skincare, it is a super moisturising, conditioning oil which is solid at room temperature but easily melts on the skin. It protects skin from the elements by forming a thin film, which is not absorbed. The coconut oil contributes to the soap hardness and is a super cleansing addition that produces big, copious bubbles.

10.OLIVE OIL

Olive oil is a natural source of the antioxidants, vitamins E and A which helps to neutralise pollutants in your skin. This oil also contributes to the soap hardness, creamy lather, slippery feel, conditioning and moisturising. Olive oil attracts external moisture to your skin, helping to keep skin soft. We just love to use this wonderful natural soap ingredient. We even produce a Castile Olive Soap with the 100% olive oil content. 

11.PAPRIKA OIL INFUSION

We use Paprika powder which is a mild and sweet variety of Capsicum annum. The paprika powder is oil soluble and makes a wonderful soap. So, we like to infuse this plant powder into the olive oil and then use it as a natural colour. We usually get a lovely peach colour on our Sweet Orange and Spearmint Soap.

12.RICE BRAN OIL

Found in the husk of rice grains, this oil is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants. It contributes to a stable bar of soap with small and mild bubbles. It’s effective for treating dry, sensitive and mature skin as Rice bran oil is really moisturising oil.

13.ROSEMARY OIL INFUSION

Rosemary has beautiful benefits ranging from moisturising your skin and supporting healthy collagen development to fighting off skin-damaging free radicals. Check out our Lemongrass Soap.

14.SHEA BUTTER (ORGANIC)

We use only unrefined shea butter in our soap which is the purest form of shea butter as it is the most natural and the least processed. Since it is extracted manually, it is able to retain its inherent nutrients and natural properties. The concentration of natural vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E in organic shea butter make it incredibly nourishing and moisturising for your skin and therefore this gorgeous butter belongs correctly to the best natural soap ingredients. Shea butter is said to be beneficial for treating dry skin, blemishes, skin discolouration, scars and wrinkles.

15.VEGETABLE GLYCERIN

is a by-product of soap making and all of our soaps contain glycerin. Glycerin is an emollient skin softener and humectant which absorbs moisture from the air onto your skin after use and it is really soothing.

16.NATURAL VITAMIN E OIL

Pure vitamin E is derived from a variety of plant oils and has anti-oxidising effects and helps support the stability of other ingredients in a product. We use vitamin E as a natural anti-oxidant in all our soap.  

Benefits of Adding Essential Oils to Natural Soap

  These rapidly evaporating oils are obtained from the leaves, stem, flower, seed or root of a plant and usually carry the odour characteristic of the plant. Essential oils add fragrance to our natural soap bars as well as contribute their healthful qualities through their various abilities to tone, balance, relax, cleanse and invigorate. Essential oils got a very special place among natural soap ingredients we use at Three Hills Soap. 

17.CEDARWOOD ATLAS

has a masculine, woody, balsamic aroma with smoky undertones. This oil has also a calming effect on the mind and in use in treating acne and oily skin. We use Cedarwood essential oil in Cypress Cedar Soap and Lemon Mandarin Soap.

18.CITRONELLA

has a rich, fresh, sweet, lemony aroma. It is also used to clear the mind and for its deodorising properties. See our Thyme Citronella Soap.

19.CLARY SAGE

has a dry, musky, bittersweet floral aroma. This oil has a euphoric, antidepressant effect and a calming influence on the nerves and emotions and at the same time is beneficial for oily skin. You can find Clary Sage essential oil in our Activated Charcoal Soap with Clary Sage.

20.CYPRESS

has a woody, refreshing, masculine aroma. It has the ability to help to restore calm and focus whilst helping ease negative emotions and is it useful for aiding acne and oily skin types. For more benefits check out our Cypress Cedar Soap.

21.EUCALYPTUS RADIATA

has a slightly camphoraceous, sweet and fruity aroma. It energises you and at the same time will help to clear the mind and combat fatigue. Eucalyptus oil also is known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. We use Eucalyptus essential oil in our Eucalyptus Mint Soap.

22.GINGER ROOT

has a strong, fresh, spicy aroma with lemony undertones. This oil is well known for its warming and soothing effects on tired muscles and minds, so it is ideal for camping and after physical or sports activity. Try our Ginger Lime Soap.

23.LAVENDER FRENCH

has a fresh, sweet, herbaceous, floral aroma and is used for its calming, relaxing and skin-soothing properties. For more benefits check out our Lavender Rosemary Soap.

24.LEMON

has a fresh, sweet lemony aroma. It has the ability to lift the spirits and is recommended for oily skin and acne. You can find Lemon essential oil in Lemon Mandarin Soap.

25.LEMONGRASS

has a strong, citrus aroma with green, lush notes. It is a refreshing, uplifting, calming and restorative oil that energises the mind and body. We use this essential oil in our Lemongrass Soap.

26.LIME

has a zesty, citrus peel aroma that is both mentally and physically uplifting. Lime has an affinity with the immune system and can help relieve pain in the joints and muscles. It can be found in our Ginger Lime Soap.

27.LITSEA CUBEBA

has a spicy, lemony, citrus aroma with vegetative notes. It is recognised for its ability to promote physical relaxation and mental calm. It has strong antiseptic properties that are useful for treating oily skin, blemishes and acne.

28.MANDARIN, RED

has a warm, citrus, floral aroma. It is one of the safest essential oils and it is a cheery, uplifting, soothing oil, so ideal for people who are feeling physically and emotionally low. Try out our Lemon Mandarin Soap.

29.ORANGE, SWEET

has sweet, fresh, fruity top notes and radiant, sensuous undertones. It is a cheerful and refreshing oil and can help encourage feelings of happiness and warmth. Particularly beneficial for acne or blemish prone skin. Check out the Sweet Orange and Spearmint Soap.

30.PATCHOULI

has a rich, exotic, musky-sweet, herbaceous aroma. It helps balance the emotions and is excellent in skincare and for fighting stress. 

31.PEPPERMINT

has a sharp, fresh, minty, herbaceous aroma and is also useful for skin conditions and mind stimulation. 

32.ROSEMARY

has a strong, fresh, camphor-like aroma with a woody, balsamic undertone and can help with fatigue, lack of concentration and poor memory. Rosemary essential oil can be found in the Lavender Rosemary Soap.

33.SPEARMINT

has a typical warm, minty, herbaceous aroma. It has a stimulating action that can help to lift the spirits, relieve fatigue and aid concentration; it also beneficial for nervous conditions. 34.THYME, RED

has intense, fresh, herbal top notes and sweet, spicy undertones. It has antimicrobial properties that can be useful for treating acne and at the same time, it can have a stimulating and fortifying effect on the emotions. Try out our Thyme Citronella Soap.  

Benefits of Adding Clays, Flowers, Roots, Plants and Spices to Natural Soap

Each bar is also made with only natural ingredients when it comes to colouring our soaps. Thanks to the mother nature extracts of flowers, spices, clays, roots, seeds, spices and plants, we are able to create some attractively coloured soap bars.

35.ACTIVATED CHARCOAL POWDER

is fantastic for oily skin as it can pull the unwanted excess oils from your skin, leaving it smooth.  Its ability to absorb oil and dirt from pores leaves skin feeling balanced. It provides the gentle exfoliating and deep cleans your skin. In soap form, charcoal it’s slightly gritty, which might provide just the gentle exfoliating you need. It will also absorb oils and toxins on and below the skin and that way eliminate acne. 

36.ALKANET ROOT

Alkanet is a herb in the borage family. Its main notability is its roots which are used as a dye. We also use these roots to colour purple our lovely Lavender Rosemary Soap.

37.ANNATTO SEEDS

Annatto is an orange-red condiment derived from the seeds of the achiote tree and for sure it belongs to the most effective natural soap ingredients when it comes to colouring.You can easily obtain different shadows of yellow and orange colour. We use these cute seeds to obtain a lovely deep orange colour in our Lemon Mandarin Soap.

38.BENTONITE CLAY

is often used to increase lather in soap bars. It has the added benefit of being a natural detoxifier. Bentonite clay binds with and removes toxins from your body, and it’s extremely eco-friendly. We like to use it in our Eucalyptus Mint Soap.

39.CALENDULA PETALS

Calendula is a great herb for calming the skin and reducing inflammation. It nourishes, rejuvenates and soothes sensitive, dry and itchy skin. Calendula has beautiful orange petals and we put them for a golden effect to our soap.

40.CARROT JUICE

Carrots get their characteristic orange colour from B-carotene which results in a high concentration of vitamin A. Beta Carotene helps your skin to stay moisturised, especially when it comes to dry skin types, it reduces fine lines and wrinkles and protects your skin from UV rays. We always use freshly squeezed organic carrots in our Carrot soap.

41.CURRY POWDER

Who would have thought that curry spice might become one of the best natural soap ingredients for us? Not usable just in your curry but in the soap too. We like to add it to our Ginger Lime Soap in order to get a light scrub.

42.DEAD SEA MUD

helps to cleanse skin and remove toxins and impurities. It moisturises and helps with skin’s hydration. Due to the high salts and mineral content of this mud, your skin will immediately feel pampered.  The soap calms and soothes irritated, dry and itchy skin and is suitable for both face and body. 

43.FRENCH GREEN CLAY

is famous for its powerful healing action, deep detoxification and purification properties. It cleanses, exfoliates and softens the skin and is effective for people with oily and mixed skin. 

44.FRENCH PINK CLAY

helps improve skin’s elasticity and provides cleanse and overall refreshed appearance. It is also known for drawing out impurities, improving skin’s elasticity, rejuvenating and purifying, therefore, our French Pink Clay Soap is ideal for people with normal, dry and mature skin types. 

45.GROUND GINGER POWDER

We put just the right amount of the ground ginger powder to create an extra sense of refreshment and positivity in Ginger Lime Soap.

46.KAOLIN WHITE CLAY

is a mild, white, fluffy clay which cleanses your skin, draw out any impurities and excess oils without stripping the skin of natural oils. Therefore, our Kaolin White Clay Soap isn’t over-drying and provides nourishment for all types of skin.

47.MADDER ROOT POWDER

Madder is a perennial climbing plant with evergreen leaves and small pale-yellow flowers. We use this powder to colour our Thyme Citronella Soap.

48.NETTLE POWDER

Nettles are high in vitamins and minerals. Their astringent and anti-inflammatory properties make them beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin. We also use powdered nettles for colouring purposes in our soap. 

49.OAT MILK

contains amazing skin care properties and can be used to help relieve acne, skin irritations, rashes, eczema, the symptoms of aging.  The oat milk adds a silkiness and smoothness to the lather that makes it feel quite different from our other bubblier soap varieties. We always prepare our oat milk fresh for the Chamomile Calendula with Oats Soap.

50.RHASSOUL CLAY

rich in silica, magnesium and potassium, improves skin elasticity and clarity and also moisturizes. It is also a gentle detoxifier and will leave your skin soft and smooth as helps to reduce flakiness, improve skin clarity and elasticity.

51.ROSEHIP POWDER

Rosehips are the fruit of wild roses and contain high levels of vitamin C and are used in skincare for its high level of antioxidants and anti-ageing properties. We love to add the rosehip powder to the Eucalyptus Mint Soap for its exfoliating benefits.
